Hidden Jimmy Gibbs Zombie! :D

So... I was scavenging through the L4D2 game files and I when I looked through the population.txt file, I found a zombie name that stuck out to me: common_male_jimmy.

So I started up the Atrium level of Dead Center and forced his model to load. Apparently it IS Jimmy Gibbs!

where did you find the population.txt? i know where it is in l4d1, ive used it to spawn some modded common infected but it seems to be hidden this time around. search doesnt bring it up... could you bring up the directory please? thanks in advance

You need to use the latest version of GCFScape (v1.7.3) to open the pak01_dir.vpk file in steamapps/common/left 4 dead 2/left4dead2

Once you have that installed, open pak01_dir.vpk and go into the scripts folder. Scroll down and eventually you will find the population.txt file.

i spawned him, but he is not exactly hidden, i found him without spawning him once, was freaking awesome, all the characters were like: HOLY CRAP! IT'S JIMMY GIBBS!!

Played the first campaign of L4D2?, If so, you'd know who Jimmy Gibbs is..

(He's a race car diver who has posters all over the first campaign, more than that i couldnt say without spoiling anything..)

I think in one of the updates it fixed him. I never did a thing to my files and I ran him over running from a Tank and a hunter. Didn’t get to see much and got no bot comments but it was him, the race overalls stood out a bit LOL.

This is awesome though!

He was cut from the game because the orignal idea for the dead center finale was to find Jimmy gibbs and kill him so you could get his keys, but the designers decied that was too boring so they changed it with the gas can idea.
