Postby SlowMotion » 01 Aug 2009 02:21

Well, it's release day! That's right folks, the time has come to release this puppy into the wild.

The End Of The Line
by SlowMotion and Tyr

Any and all feedback is appreciated. Bugfinds, exploits, critiques, likes, dislikes, loves, hates, anything :) It'll help in development as we continue to support this map post-release... Yeah I'm goin around posting pretty much the same thing to these forums but I will be checking back on every single comment! I'll even reply to most if I need to.

So, here we go!

Download from L4DMods.com

Just extract the .vpk from the zip file, and double-click to install! Or you can copy/paste it into your left4dead/addons folder manually, that works too. :)

Lookin forward to hearing from everyone!

This is really well done and has great attention to detail.

My only critique is that the upper railings seem to make it a little too easy to survive. IMO, anyways.

Great job.

Okay, on my first attempt I got 7 minutes about.
A few things to note;
I'd like to be able to see over the office room windowledge easier.
Please VPK this, or will you, for the final map?
Railings seemed easy to defend, but the bots wanted to go elsewhere...
...Therefore I died prematurely.
I think the item layout was perfect, but maybe some of the railing ones moved over to the sleeping bag.
I didn't go outside, can you get there through the opening door?

@Savage: lol yea, the bots always seemed the hate the map from the start, they never really followed close, but I did the best I could with it. :p

@The_One_Avenger: The download hosted at the site IS a .vpk file... I even downloaded the rar to make sure it was :) How did you manage to play the map?

At the moment I've got a pretty good idea what I'm gonna do about the railings, but it'll take time.
Anyways, thanks guys :>

LOL, I was sort of high off oranges. I had four. Well, yes i installed a VPK, but was expecting a campaign, not a map which I have to type map l4d_sv_endoftheline to get to

Is it just a single map or a campaign?

Single map, not like Last Stand though. You have to type map l4d_sv_endoftheline to get to it.

You have to do that with all Survival maps, if no one hosts them, coz then you can search for a server. Or you can host it locally and have it friends-only. Though the bots hate the map.

No I was doing singleplayer, i went Survival >

Yup I see why now xD There is no singleplayer survival lobby which I thought I had gone into, but I went into a Campaign lobby for singleplayer accidentally. Therefore I stand corrected.
